Quote from Kirill.D :Not all GTR's , XFR, XRR and FXR has the sequential one, like VW's DSG box, where you don't need to use clutch. Next gear is always on. FZR and UFR uses H one.

And that's still not entirely correct. You do need to use clutch on shifting to first gear and taking off in cars with sequential gearbox, clutch option isn't locked for them either.

Dear Devs,
Since FBM got new wheels, maybe updating the car selection screen is needed as you can see the old rims on the pic?

Quote from Crashgate3 :
Tempted to buy it as a download but I think this is going to require a physical manual I can have on my knee as I fly. 2 pages of instructions, just to get it off the ground apparently

Very true
I wanted to just take off and fly but soon gave up and started the mission when you start in the air already (and thats after watching take off tutorial several times)

Starting right in the air wasn't THAT helpful anyway

Quote from oqvist :Imagine you are in a real car and the shifter nob comes loose.

No imagination needed, seen that in RL. Opel Vectra B, starting off from the green light, on shift from 1st to 2nd gear the gear knob flies off and goes onto the back seat, the engine revs like mad, we were barelly sitting laughing...

I saw that movie some time ago:http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=-XgQm_fITok
In that movie guy is having G25 set to 900 degress and in LFS that is synchronized, how it can be done??

Sorry for my bad english i hope you understand me a bit.

It can't. The real wheel might have the rotation of 900*, but ingame animation is rotating 720*, RL wheel rotates more than ingame one.

Quote from Crowsnose :The g25 is a bit out of my price range so I'm wondering what alternatives there are. Is MOMO the best bang for your buck?

I'm not hardcore into racing sims (or cars for that matter) I've just been getting into LFS lately and would like a good wheel system to get the most out of the experience.

I'd like something that works well for drifting and won't break down after a couple of years.

I'm not too aware of all the products on the market, all I've really heard of is the g25 and momo. So are there any other good quality products out there in the $100-150 range?

Best bet for your price range would be DF GT. It doesn't have a shifter or the clutch pedal, but is a class ahead of MOMO.

Speaking of KA-50, Indeed, the russian version is already out.
I have it installed and I must say I'm really confused. It IS very hard. In realistic mode, I spent 30 half an hour trying start the engines at least - failed. After watching the tutorial, managed to get some sound of it working and then something broke down The amount of switches in the cocpit is rediciluos, it really needs some learning to control that thing. The copter is very unstable and is really hard to keep in the air, let alone manuever and fight.

So, for those flight hardcore lovers, it's a must definetly

Quote from Bose321 :Well, the current engine is dead, so maybe the new one will help.

The old one died because of ..... too much torque? Then new one will die in the same way. If I were you, I'd sit for some time and think through all the construction a few times, calculated everything and only then started working.

Anyway, good luck...

Quote from Bose321 :i'm going to order to interals of an kinda new MOMO for like 15 euro i hope that will work

I don't see how will it work tbh... The new momo will have the same motor and it will be just as week as your current one. So you have two ways of solving your current problem as I see it:

1) Use several identical motors (MOMO's in your case I guess) connected paralelly to compensate lack of torque.

2) Start from Scratch using G25 as a base. Should be easier, as you won't have mess with finding new motor or any other things.
It's expensive, but your choise wasn't for the sake of cheaper price from the very begining

Quote from Anzeee :Mah, i'll leave it on 6/7 days in a week and if something happen to wheel, i'll send it to guaranty. I checked documents and there's nowhere writing about time for plugged wheel.

Just in-case, if the electricity network wher you are is stable and reliable, there is no need to worry about it. If not, you'd better use some sort of Filther to protect the wheel and all other components

Quote from Bose321 :yeah, true. but i mean, i had my ffb strenght at only 80% or something like that, so i could always turn it up

80% is already a quite high value, the motor will cary excessive loads and will have much higher chances to burn.
Just a simple math, you can increase the strength 20% more while still being in "safe limits", but the rotation increases 300% (if it will be 720*) so is the torque, I don't think overcoming this will be as easy as just increase the strengh of FFB...

Don't worry about breaking the wheel when in accident, I haven't heard of G25s breaking from crashes in-game...I did heard of broken thumb cause of it though (You can seach a little in here and you'll find the thread)

While not having gearshift indicator in H-gated cars might be more realistic, but in LFS many people don't have H-Shifter, and even the minority which does have them, you'll get no sign that you mishifted, as gears aren't grinding as in RL.

So, as an option, definetly +1,

Forced one, -1

Quote from breadfan :A passport? Now I'm really confused I think that we are speaking about different visas here I meant Visa credit card, you don't need a passport to have one as far as I know.

Well, you do need to atleast have passport to get a bank account in UA, and you're getting a passport only after 16

Wow ! Talk about immersion factor !!! The only thing that disappoints me so far is that I have to go out tonight...you know, social life...

Since I never had a wheel before, and it took me quite a bit to figure out how to make it work in LFS, can someone point me to a setup guide, the do's and dont's, and so on ??

Thanks

My G25 became off center 4-5 degrees. Allthough I centered the center position with DXtweak and I very rarely go to the FFB stops (720* set), it still kind of annoying and would be interesting if it is possible to repair (manually)
